Paste your list, say how to split it, and fair teams appear right away. No sign-up, no hat, no awkward picking order.
Your teams are waiting. Hit Make teams to fill them.
Think of it as the paper-slips-in-a-hat method, minus the paper and the arguing. You give it a list of names, it shuffles them thoroughly, and deals them out like cards into teams.
Nobody gets picked last, nobody gets picked first on purpose, and the groups come out as even as the numbers allow. Ten people into four teams? You'll get 3, 3, 2 and 2, not 3, 3, 3 and one lonely soul.
Three moves, and you're done.
One name per line. Copying a column out of a spreadsheet and pasting it in works perfectly.
Tell it how many teams you want, or how big each team should be. Whichever way your brain works.
Teams update as you type, so there's no waiting. Not happy with a pairing? Shuffle again. It's free and never gets tired.
Real life isn't always an even split. Three small tweaks cover most situations.
Under the split options, choose Name your teams and type one name per line. They're handed out in order, and any leftover teams keep their numbers.
Switch to Custom sizes, add a row per team and type how many seats each one has. If the total is short, extra people wait in a "Not placed" box.
Put a * in front of anyone who should lead. Each team gets one leader before everybody else is dealt in.
Anywhere a group needs splitting and someone would rather not be the one deciding.
